The governor’s announcement of Phase 2 would apply to 64 counties but not Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties, which account for 55 percent of the state’s coronavirus infections.

In Phase 2, which starts Friday, bars can reopen as can entertainment establishments such as movie theaters, concert halls and bowling alleys if they limit occupancy to 50 percent. The reopening does not include nightclubs.

Tattoo parlors, tanning and massage spas can also reopen “with appropriate safety guidelines as outlined by the Department of Health,” the governor’s order said.

In Palm Beach County, which began reopening May 11, more than one in 10 test results reported on Friday and Tuesday were positive.

Eight more people on Wednesday were added to the disease’s death toll in Palm Beach County, including a 30-year-old woman. Most victims who succumb to COVID-19 have been 65 and older.

Palm Beach County remains the No. 2 county in Florida for coronavirus deaths, with 372 fatalities, including non-residents. Only Miami-Dade has more, 742, while Broward has 339.
