Beaches in the Town of Palm Beach will be closed starting Saturday, Sept. 5 through Monday, Sept. 7, and will reopen Tuesday, Sept. 8. This includes all guarded and unguarded, public beaches, public access points, and Phipps Ocean Park (except for the Tennis Center), as well as the green spaces adjacent to Mid-Town Beach.
Town officials say Labor Day weekend traditionally attracts large crowds of beachgoers, and the decision to close the beaches was made to avoid “super spreader” events.
On Monday the Florida Department of Health reported a total of 623,471 people tested positive for the virus. In Palm Beach County, there are 41,965 total cases.
